Try to ease these concerns by finding the right way to answer the overqualified question. Tell the employer that you will want to get back to the basics or even agree to lower pay. Learn to boost your social media profile.
For someone who may be older than the typical job applicant, make sure that you try to make yourself relevant in today’s job market. One way to do that is by letting employers know that you are comfortable with using today’s technology. Take social networks for example. Job applicants nowadays maintain a LinkedIn profile or maintain other social network presence. This can indicate that you are quite knowledgeable of today’s technology and feel comfortable about using it.
Limit information you provide in your resume.
Because of years of experience, older applicants may be tempted to place them all into their job resume, expecting that it will give them an edge.
